CMS-Festival 2021

A Walk Through of Student Fests 2021 at CMS

Keeping the tradition of the annual fest alive, the Center for Management Studies, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) organized CMS – Festival 2021. These events combine elements of education and fun by providing students a platform to showcase their talent and academic excellence. The festival is split into cultural, management, and media events named Verve, Abhinaya, Threshold, Melange, Lasya, and Precipice. Owing to the pandemic this year and the restrictions borne upon the entire world the festival was conducted in a hybrid format wherein events took place on both online and offline platforms, but that didn’t make the vibe of the fest any less vibrant, contagious, and exuberant. The organizing team took into account various challenges and made it happen. CMS was proud to host a wide array of universities and colleges from across the country, and the fest turned out to be truly mesmerizing.

Verve 2021

The event took place on March 7, 2021, and March 8, 2021. The event provided students a glimpse of the spirit of the fest. The fest brought together the entire family of CMS to develop a deep understanding of each art form the Cultural Fest Team represents outside the college. The idea was to expose each participant to a similar kind of competition that the teams face outside the college, intending to instigate in every individual a trait of creativity that goes a long way in the holistic development of the individual through extra-curricular activities and academics. Moreover, healthy competition builds a sense of sportsmanship and helps each person discover more about the talent withheld. Verve 2021 was conducted as a hybrid model and had external judges from various fields. It saw immense participation from 11 classes that competed as contingents, some even along with their teachers, and 2 students from BAJ won the trophy!

Threshold 2021

Threshold 2021 took place from March 16 to March 18, 2021. It had two events this year; the multi-tasking event and the business quiz. In the multi-tasking event, the participants took part in teams of four. The events assessed the limits of every participant. Participants were encouraged to showcase their best managerial, corporate and general knowledge. However, the integral factor that determined a team’s success was its capability to synergize and work together. Business Quiz included individual participation; it tested the power of knowledge in each participant. The rounds involved various corporate and non-corporate elements that provided all the participants a valuable time. The teams vigorously battled through three days of intensive competition and worked towards a cash prize of INR 50,000. The event experienced a highly competitive scenario with all the teams displaying impressive managerial skills by successfully completing 21 challenging rounds. The overall winner of Threshold 2021 was Christ (Deemed to be University), Bannerghatta Campus.
