Considered as one of the highest levels of diplomatic debating competitions, Model United Nations has become an integral part of the debating forum in India. CMS Model United Nations (CMS MUN) being hosted by and at JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) – Center for Management Studies has earned a name of its own across the nation at its very inception as one of the biggest MUNs in India with the largest cash prize felicitations to the victors.
CMS hosted its third edition of MUN this academic year (2016 – 17) on the 25th, 26th and 27th of November 2016 and has not only witnessed a neck to neck competition but has also set new bars of hosting a MUN competition. With over a footfall of more than 120 participants, CMS MUN has achieved new heights of success. From global issues like BREXIT to international concerns like Nuclear Proliferation Treaty, this forum has discussed it all. In the three day debating extravaganza participants along with the visible boost in their debating skills have also learnt the necessities and needs of diplomacy.
To challenge the participants in a structured manner CMS MUN V3 presented multiple committees such as DISEC, HSC, G20 and Crisis and with an excellent Executive Board it has ensured that each and every person who registered themselves to be a part of this event walks away with enhanced knowledge and diplomatic debating skills. Along with the conventional committees CMS MUN also opened its doors to the field of journalism and media by introducing an additional committee of International Press thus challenging the oratory and literary skills of its participants.
With a smile on faces and pride in the hearts the participants of CMS MUN V3 bid adieu to the conference promising to return back next year and achieve greater levels of success. CMS MUN V3 as expected was a package full of surprises and an ocean full of opportunities to each and every person who was a part of it. Not limiting itself to any boundaries or borders, one can say that it is always better to expect the unexpected from CMS Model United Nations as time has stood the witness of the wonders that happen here.
