Jain University – Center for Management Studies conducted an International Conference on “Innovative Pedagogy in Business and Management Education” at Hotel Atria, Palace Road, Bangalore on Oct 10th 2009.
The purpose of this International Conference was to provide a forum for new ideas along with interaction and deliberations on possible strategies for synergizing disparate elements in global education and functional management. The conference also provides a platform for networking and collaboration among the research scholars, industry delegates, businessmen and academicians.
The conference was inaugurated by Dr. R Chenraj Jain, Chancellor Jain University with the inaugural address by Swami Sukhabodhananda, Spiritual Guru and the keynote address was given by Prof. David Spencer, Associate Dean, Latrobe University.
Swami Sukhabodhananda, Spiritual Guru spoke about the ethical part of education, how teachers could make their presentations in class interesting since students do not follow instructions but observe teachers and learn from them in classrooms. He also told that a teacher should always enjoy his work, make the sessions vibrant and communicate the same to students.
Prof. David Spencer spoke why innovative pedagogy is required, what we do to bring innovativeness in education and how do we go about developing the pedagogy.
The panel consisted of renowned academicians from India’s premiere B - schools, Industry veterans and Spiritual and Management thinkers, Global University heads and the like.
